A pedestrian was stuck by a vehicle and killed Thursday morning near the Y intersection in Oak Hill.

The accident at U.S. 290 West and Circle Drive shut down several lanes of the highway for hours, officials said.

Texas Department of Safety troopers said Daniel Jandle, 57, was trying to cross several lanes of traffic when he was hit just before 6 a.m. He was declared dead at the scene.

Officials said the incident is being investigated as an accident.
