Woman Killed in New Braunfels Crossing I-35

A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle as she tried to cross the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 in New Braunfels on Tuesday, authorities said.

At 10:54 a.m. New Braunfels police responded to the 300 block of I-35 to reports of a female pedestrian involved in a hit-and-run.

Emergency crews found the woman lying in the roadway and took her to Resolute Health Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The identity of the woman has not been released, pending notification of her family.

All of the southbound lanes of I-35 were closed for about an hour while investigators worked the scene of the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact New Braunfels police or Comal County Crime Stoppers, authorities said.

Comal County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest and/or grand jury indictment.
