Police found Hernandez unresponsive in his green 2005 Honda Accord, which then caught fire.

Pedestrian struck in traffic on Rundberg dies

A pedestrian who was struck while crossing Rundberg Lane in Northeast Austin last month has died, Austin police said.

Officers responded on July 17 at 9:43 a.m. to the 800 block of East Rundberg Lane, just off of Interstate 35.

Investigators found that a white 2002 Hyundai Accent was traveling east on Rundberg Lane when it hit 71-year-old Ronnie Dawson Lindsey as he tried to cross the street from north to south.

Lindsey was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he died on July 24 at 2:17 p.m.

The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with investigators, police said. Impairment or excessive speed do not appear to be a factor in the incident, authorities said.

Anyone with more information on this case can call police at 512-974-6873. Tipsters can also use the Austin PD app.
